Data Architecture Definition

Data Architecture

Data architecture is the IT structure used to maintain a company’s data resources and manage their data assets.

It is a set of standards and regulations that govern the gathering, storing, utilization, processing, and integration of data within an IT system.

Data architecture also includes the rules that govern who data is distributed to and how data is consumed by those users.

Companies often use data architectures to help their systems scale quickly, maximize performance, and enhance security, while providing a bedrock data backbone to the organization as a whole.
