Data Cleansing Definition

Data Cleansing

Data cleansing is the process of adjusting or removing data that is improperly formatted, irrelevant, incomplete, or otherwise incorrect.

This process is typically performed to prepare the data for analysis. Incorrect, incomplete, or extraneous data is removed to avoid falsifying the analysis.

But data cleansing does not simply eliminate faulty data. The process also transforms data into the proper format for analysis.

This produces structured data that can be fed into BI dashboards, AL/ML algorithms, and other workflows that require specific data formats for analysis.
