Pull data from LKQD in Rivery

Rivery allows users to build reports of LKQD in a similar structure to reports built-in LKQD UI.

Any report will be generated from selected dimensions and pre-defined metrics (the metrics are default and cannot be changed)

  1. Select the dimensions of the report:

    1. Click on the input to have a list of all available dimensions. It is possible to search in this list

    2. LKQD allows users to select up to 4 dimensions

    3. Some dimensions might contain large amounts of data that might have issues pulling data for large periods of time (like domain) (see the part of the time period to learn how to handle these issues).

  1. Add filters to the report. Filters can be useful if the account contains a large amount of data and you’d like to reduce the amount of data pulled. (Usually filtering by Environment can be easy and useful to do so)

    1. Click on ‘Add’ to add filters

    2. Click on Add filter to open a list of available columns to filter by

    3. Insert the value to filter by in the ‘value’ input

    4. Click on ‘Add’ to add additional filters

  1. Select the time period of the report

    1. Insert any start date - Rivery will pull data from LKQD from that given start date forward

    2. Insert any end date - Rivery will pull data from LKQD only until that end date. Leave the end date empty in order to pull data until the moment the river runs.

    3. Days back - use this input to tell Rivery to pull data from a given number of days back before the given start date. This option is useful when there are retroactive updates and you need to pull the data again after some time.

  1. Select the aggregation of the report.

    1. Daily grouping level will return the “time” column with dates in the format yyyy-mm-dd.

    2. Hourly grouping level will return the “time” column with dates and hours in the format yyyy-mm-ddThh.

    3. “All” grouping levels will return only summary information for each combination of the selected dimensions.

    4. There are some combinations of ”period grouping level” and “interval chunks size” that cannot be selected together.

  1. Select the timezone of the report. UTC is the default timezone

  1. Interval chunk size - This input is important when pulling large amounts of data from LKQD.

Large amounts of data might be due to long periods of time or a large selected dimension (like domain).

The default interval chunk is daily. If you are about to pull multiple days and are certain that your LKQD data can be pulled in one interval, you can cancel the interval by selecting ‘don’t split’.

Note that when using the interval chunk size, each interval will require sending a request to LKQD and therefore will change your daily quota. Therefore, there is a limit to the intervals and to the amount of LKQD runs in a day.

Use the interval size input in order to select a specific sized interval.

LKQD limits

The usual common restriction in LKQD is 30 requests per day (according to LKQD documentation).

That restriction should be considered when configuring the LKQD river. This will be discussed in the following section of this guidebook.
