Our latest feature, multi-region configuration, adds yet another customizable layer to our solution. The feature enables customers to harness Rivery on servers located in a specific country or region.

Multi-region configuration ensures regulatory compliance across jurisdictions, all while improving data transfer speed. As of today, customers can use Rivery servers in the US or the EU, with the ability to add servers in other regions by request.

Customize Server Location to Meet Regulations and Perform Faster Data Transfers

In recent years, major regulations such as the GDPR have increased compliance burdens on companies around the world. According to these new regulations, server location is a key factor in determining how a company must handle data.

Multi-region configuration allows customers to choose the server location that best advances their data strategies in this complex regulatory environment.

Consider the GDPR. Under these regulations, if a company transfers Personally Identifiable Information (PII) to a server outside of the EU, the PII must still retain the same protections. Additional provisions in the GDPR create other challenges for companies using non-EU servers.

For businesses that want to avoid these regulatory complications, multi-region configuration allows them to keep all EU data in an EU server, eliminating costly compliance issues.

Multi-region configuration also enables faster data transfers. According to a study by Verizon, a connection between two servers in the same country is at least twice as fast as a connection between a server in Europe and a server in the US.
