Weather tech company, Tomorrow.io, gets a holistic view of all its data on a single dashboard

“Rivery’s platform is extremely easy to use. It gives us the confidence to know that any time we need data, wherever it might be on the internet, we are always able to pull it, use it, and make sense of it.”

Why Tomorrow.io Chose Rivery:

  • Streamlines disparate data sources
  • Readily connects with all data sources
  • Extremely easy to use
  • Holistic view of all data on a single dashboard

The Customer: An Industry-Leading Weather Intelligence Company

Tomorrow.io provides the world’s most advanced intelligence to help airlines, municipalities, emergency services and many other organizations plan around the weather. It uses repurposed wireless communication networks as sensors to deliver real-time actionable weather insights. As a result, railroad companies can avoid derailments in high winds, airports can prepare to de-ice planes and sports venues can plan ahead for weather-related cancellations.

The Challenge: Gather a Diverse Array of Marketing Data Under One Virtual Roof

The company scaled up marketing activity to attract more users to its new mobile app, but found the incoming data on their activity was a jumble.

Measuring and optimizing the marketing ROI became increasingly complex as the B2C team grew the user base, and the volume of data increased.

To get a full picture of what was happening they were having to leverage multiple advertisers, such as Google and Facebook, marketing sources, data from app stores, analytics tools like Mixpanel, and attribution platforms such as AppsFlyer.

What they needed, instead of a data jumble, was the convenience and efficiency of having everything in one place.

The Solution: Quick and Easy Connection to all Data Sources

Rivery was the one company that could provide Tomorrow.io with everything it needed. Rivery’s ready-made ETL ticked all the boxes, with native connectors to Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store – which other companies couldn’t offer – and built-in API connectors to every relevant data source.

Tomer Coreanu, Tomorrow.io’s VP & General Manager, B2C had chosen Google BigQuery as the cloud warehouse and Tableau dashboards to visualize the resulting insights. He knew that building an ETL from scratch wasn’t an option, so he started exploring what solutions the market had to offer.

“Rivery’s platform is extremely easy to use,” he said. “It gives us the confidence to know that any time we need data, wherever it might be on the internet, we are always able to pull it, use it, and make sense of it.”

“The product was easy to set up and requires no maintenance. In addition, the responsiveness and agility of Rivery’s support team throughout the testing phases became a decisive factor.”

The Outcome: Holistic View for B2C Team, Now Rolling out Across the Company

Rivery provides the B2C team at Tomorrow.io with the holistic view it needs. It has been such a success that many other business units across the company are now also on-board. They include customer support, operations, marketing and product teams, and management and executive teams.

Rivery has become the company’s go-to tool for getting data from any source into Google BigQuery. Now it will go a step further, using Rivery to create a centralized and holistic view of performance KPIs across the entire company. Data on all products, divisions, and departments will be viewable on a single unified dashboard.
