ALL About The Role of Senior Salesforce Admin & Operations Analyst

We are looking for a Senior Salesforce Admin & Technical BA to be our one-person sales operations team. It is very important for this person to have strong knowledge of B2B SaaS businesses. The right candidate will be excited by the unusual level of ownership they will have of our robust and intertwined systems. We need someone to act as both the manager and the analyst/developer of this team of one.

Our tech stack consists of Salesforce, Hubspot, Zapier, Chargebee, Outreach, ZoomInfo, Zoom, Zoom Revenue Accelerator, Crossbeam, and Tableau. You will be an admin of most of these systems, but 90% of your time will be on Salesforce, so no prior knowledge is required of any other individual technology.

Our Salesforce environment is 2.5 years old and we are on an Unlimited license. We started it during an era of hypergrowth, so it was built in ways that made sense for the short term. Rivery is a SaaS tool with consumption-based pricing so our implementation is complex for our company size to begin with, and on top of that many processes and flows have become over-engineered quick fixes. For the last few months, we have been going back through our implementation and refactoring it for long term use, better respecting Salesforce best practices. In parallel, we have done a significant data hygiene exercise, which is about 75% complete. You will take over these projects to completion and maintain the system going forward. At your disposal will be a part-time Salesforce development consultancy in Ukraine that you can outsource work to that is low-risk in order to get everything done ASAP.

This role will report to our VP of Sales, Scott Hanrahan, who in fact is the real live human writing this job description. I have enough Salesforce and overall technology experience to strategize with you on the solutions you build. Your role will also require a lot of work for our VP of Finance and Operations who also manages our BI team. We do heavy Tableau development based off of data in our Salesforce system, so the BI team and you will work closely together.

Expected Time & Task Breakdown

10%: Team management. Although you’re a team of one, you’re a shared service who serves four other departments. You’ll maintain an up to date JIRA, estimating time for each of your tasks and organizing them into two-week sprints. You’ll communicate your sprints in bi-weekly emails and monthly meetings to VPs of Sales, Marketing, Finance, Customer Journey, and Sales Engineering.

55%: BAU System Management & Maintenance: Our Salesforce and peripheral sales ops systems are mission-critical for our company to operate smoothly. This bucket of: - Implementing the many minor business and technical requests that come up as a result of Rivery being a fast-changing business.

  • Fixing bugs in the system
  • Maintaining our in-Salesforce reports, dashboards, and list views
  • Fielding questions from the team and from management
  • Ensuring relevant folks are fully enabled on our systems
  • Managing our Deal Desk
  • Monthly tasks related to pay-as-you-go accounts

35%: Strategic Projects: As mentioned, the current strategic project is to refactor some parts of our Salesforce environment for long-term scalability and ease of maintenance. Upcoming projects may include implementing products, revising the way we manage pay-as-you-go customers, better documenting our key objects, and then implementing a series of business-value-adding functionalities more akin to today’s Rev Ops projects.
