"Before, we'd have to do an API integration with a bunch of data engineers to get a single data source into a data warehouse. It took a really long time, was very, very expensive and it was prone to human error. Now, we've dramatically cut all that down with Rivery."

FAQ

What analytics ready data can you extract from Facebook Ads API?
Rivery offers a set of Predefined Reports for Facebook Ads for rapid data integration. Using these reports, you can quickly analyze the data without having to learn the intricacies of the way the data is organized within the Facebook Ads API. Simply provide your Facebook Ads credentials and choose the report to load into your cloud data warehouse.
The Facebook Ads data source in Rivery comes with the below predefined reports (click to navigate to the full data structure documentation):
Why extract data from Facebook Ads?

Integrating Facebook Ads with Rivery streamlines data management and enhances marketing analytics.

Here are a few common reasons as to why you would need to extract data from Facebook Ads:

  • Understanding What Works: By pulling data from your ads, you can see how well they’re performing—like which ones are getting clicks, converting customers, or giving you the best bang for your buck. It’s all about figuring out what’s working and what isn’t.
  • Getting to Know Your Audience: Facebook Ads come with a lot of insights about the people interacting with your ads, like their age, location, and interests. By diving into this data, you can fine-tune who you’re targeting and get a better grasp on who’s interested in your product.
  • Measuring Success: If you want to know if your ad spend is actually paying off, you need to look at the numbers. Extracting your ad data lets you compare what you’re spending with what you’re earning, so you can see if your ads are worth the investment.
  • Creating Custom Reports: Sometimes, you need reports that are specific to your business needs, not just the standard ones Facebook provides. By pulling out your ad data, you can mix and match it with other data to create reports that really tell the story you need to hear.
  • Connecting the Dots: If you’re using other marketing tools or tracking systems, you’ll want to integrate your Facebook Ads data with those. Extracting the data makes it easier to see the bigger picture of how all your marketing efforts are working together.
  • Optimizing Your Ads: With the data in hand, you can automate some of your ad management—like tweaking bids or stopping ads that aren’t performing well. This way, you’re always making the most of your ad budget.
How often does the Facebook Ads API upgrade?

Facebook Ads API updates once every four months.

When a new version of the Marketing API is released, Facebook maintains support for the previous version for a minimum of 90 days. This gives you a 90-day transition period to switch to the latest version. During this time, you can access both the current and deprecated versions. However, once the 90-day period concludes, the deprecated version will no longer function. After it’s discontinued, any attempts to use that version may result in failure or an automatic upgrade to the next available version.

Rivery manages the Facebook Ads integration for you, so you don’t need to worry about API upgrades breaking your data pipelines. Rivery will continually maintain the integration with the latest API versions. Most upgrades would be seamless requiring no action on your end. If any API version change require your attention — like added, removed, or modified reports/data fields that you may be using — Rivery will notify you ahead of time with the details and any possible actions required.
